This really gives me the shits, young girls aren't allowed to be given vaccinations which could prevent up 70% of cervical cancer cases? Barnaby Joyce has interpreted the potential availability of the drug as something that gives a "12-year-old daughter a license to be promiscuous".

As far as I know one of the bag of government supported vaccinations given to girls during high school is the standard measles, mumps, rubella. The main intention being that developing rubella while pregnant can harm the fetus. It seems that sex related vaccinations are ok when we are breeding 'one for the country', but become a problem when STIs leading to cancer could be prevented.
