"Husband cut off rival's penis"
Bullshit. This is not the story.
The reporting of this article really gives me the shits. Reading on you discover what actually happened was a man broke into the house where his estranged wife and her new partner where living. He then attacked the couple while they were sleeping, stabbing the new partner to death and cutting off his penis. He also stabbed his estranged wife multiple times in the legs until she managed to escape and run out onto the street.
This is a domestic violence issue where a third party has been murdered. The husband had obviously premeditated the attack; obtaining keys to the apartment from one of his adult children and taking with him a torch and a "cutting implement". It seems he sought to retrieve his 'property', or at the very least assert control over the situation and his wife. The Age's reporting of this incident with the sensational headline trivialises the extremely serious nature of the situation and domestic violence in general.
I thought Australia said no?
